I have owned and been shooting my AD-16 since 2014 when I started 3gun. The round count on my rifle is in excess of 3,000 rounds now and the only reason it isn’t higher is because I went to college. I used this gun to good effect at 5 major 3gun matches one of them being the MGM Iron Man in which I engaged targets from 5 to 500 yards and never experienced a malfunction over the course of 3 days. Over my last break I took it out and shoot a 1moa group at 100 yards with 55gr ball ammo even after thousands of rounds and by no means “safe queen treatment” this is a gun that continues to impressed me and always comes naturally to my shoulder and hits what I point at.

The quality and customer service from these guys are second to none! Their weapon systems…..guys, I have owned 2 of the first original 100 in production and I’m coming back for #3 as of recent. AD rifles and the phenomenal quality and custom work AD puts into their weapons…..well let’s put it this way, just simply put….”outstanding”! I will continue to put up my AD rifle against other brands, makes and models in today’s modern battlefield at home or abroad. Fit and finish were perfect! The AD Gray looks great. 14.5″ rifle is balanced just right. The safety selector is great, especially for going back to safe when configured in the 45 degree position. Gas block is easy to adjust and the rifle is the smoothest cycling rifle I own by far!! Recoil is just a smooth, flat impulse and I have the AD Templar muzzle device. I really like the mag well. It’s like throwing a hotdog down a hallway, they go in effortlessly. The rifle was built and delivered earlier than quoted when I ordered over the phone. The rifle came in a large padded plastic case. Communication was great! I’m beyond satisfied!!

Best rifle I have ever owned, I would confidently compare it to any other high end rifles around in every category that matters. High quality materials and assembly that shoots fast, flat, and reliably with very little felt recoil. Doug’s communication and customer service is just as great as the rifle.

The 14.5″ AD-16 is my very first carbine (though I have purchased pistols from AD in the past with great experience). I compared it to all the other high end rifles at my local gun store. The fit and finish is top notch and the finishing is far better. They even honored my custom request to pin / weld a KAC MAMS onto the barrel. Doug and his crew really care about their products and provided great communication throughout the build. I furnished it with a set of KAC BUIS and an LED ACOG and took it to the range. It shoots like a dream, zero’ed with ease and in no time I was punching through the bull’s eyes downrange. Mind you I’m a novice / amateur, so it’s really the carbine doing its job. I’m very happy with my purchase and will come back for more!

If anyone has any questions about the integrity of this fantastic piece of hardware or the guys who stand behind it, just stop and buy one. You will not be disappointed! After five years, dozens of laps around the world, a round count in the tens of thousands, the bottom of a swamp or two, and more sand than any gun should ever see, it’s is still driving tacks like the day it was new. The time and effort that Doug and the team have put into this build goes above and beyond and I can say without question that I owe my life to the precision and reliability that they have created.
